Drive a car, get a $25 gift card, so why not? Actually, the car pleasantly surprised me. I've driven an Optima before, and felt it was pretty "meh." This was an entirely different animal. Smooth ride, soft leather, and oodles of toys in the SXL trim. Is it good enough to steal away E-Class drivers? Probably not. But C-Class drivers? I'd say so.

How does it compare to the Phaeton? Luxury? Near luxury? Worthy effort at it?

Yes, but does it drive better than a credenza?

It certainly doesn't have the presence that the Phaeton has, nor the same quality materials. The wood trim, for example, is faux.
It has quite a few of the features that the Phaeton has (heated and cooled seats, dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel, push-button rear sunshade), as well as some features that the Phaeton doesn't (backup camera, Bluetooth, dual panoramic sunroof), but only because this is a 2014 car, and the Phaeton is a 2004.
And even though the Cadenza is 10 years newer, it's still lacking things the older Phaeton has. No heated/cooled seats in the rear. No massage. No sunshades in the door. No rear climate control. No air adjustable suspension. No automatic trunk lid.
I'd still take the Phaeton.

I need to go do the test drive for a gift card. Hoping they have an SX Koup on the lot

Did you get the red key or the blue key?

That's the K900, which I would have driven if they were on sale yet.

Oops you are right. They do look similar though!

I was very impressed with the fit, finish, and feel of it when I got in at the auto show. In fact I was all around impressed with the Korean offerings.
